Snow White

My son J. is in his first year of wrestling.  The other night he had a particularly frustrating practice, and so on the ride home, we discussed doing things that we didn't want to do and just getting through the bad times.  So, after we talked that to death, my daughter O. said, "You know, I really don't like Snow White, but I try to play w/ her every day!"  She had to put her two cents in!  And the only reason why she doesn't like her is because her hair is like Princess Leia's!  Apparently to a 4 year old, that style is NOT appealing!

Ah, what a beautiful morning!

I just love mornings when everything runs smooth and there aren't any fights about clothes or who's sitting where at the breakfast table!  We had such a great morning, I love it!  And then we walked outside and the weather is SO nice today!  Again, I LOVE it!!!!  I can't wait to go for a nice walk this afternoon after E. wakes up from her nap!  The wind isn't too bracing, and the sun is out, which, for this time of year in SW PA, that's a good thing!  :D  Today is going to be a great day!

On a happier note!

On a happier note, I was in charge of taking my son to wrestling this evening for the first time.  Normally my husband has this particular job, but he had a board meeting, so it was up to me!  Cart the 3 kids to wrestling practice, go to McDonalds for dinner, visit some family while we wait, then go back to wrestling for the last half hour of practice.  Now, today the new kids (which my son is a part of) did such a great job of remembering things from past practices, they were rewarded w/ a few games of dodge ball and some candy at the end!  I'm sure it was leftover Halloween candy, but it's still a treat for a 6 year old!

But, as I was watching him play dodge ball, I could see the wheels turning in his mind.  Later he told me that he didn't really like the game because there were boundaries.  You couldn't cross the middle line to go behind and get the guys!  He's SO going to be a soldier or police officer!  I love it!  LOL!  But, it was so interesting watching him play.  He wanted to get as many balls as possible so he could just shoot, shoot, shoot!  He's such a big boy!!!!  I just love that kid!

A Christmas List

Tonight O. was going through the latest toy catalog for Christmas, and then she ran into the toy room.  I could hear her talking, and I asked her who she was talking to.  She replied, "I'm not talking to you.  I'm just talking to God."  Apparently she was asking HIM for Christmas gifts!  LOL!  Talk about irony!  We should be buying gifts for God, not the other way around!  Still, I found this humorous.  Perhaps we need to start going to church more often, so that we can teach these little ones what Christmas is all about.  Not to say that we don't usually go, but we've been slackers and have taken a few weekends off.  I guess we need to go and give thanks for what we have before we start writing our Christmas lists!

Cloudy, rainy day!

Today is such a contrast to yesterday!  We had a wonderful, beautiful day yesterday, and today it seems like it was just a dream!  It's cold and rainy and I feel like I should make chicken soup and snuggle on the couch w/ a blanket and a good book!

But, I'm making chocolate chip cookies.  I've been making chocolate chip stuff all weekend!  It took 2 days to make chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes, and now I have to make choc. chop cookies for an event.  And tell me why I signed up for the baking committee?!  I don't really even like to bake!  And I don't especially like to bake for strangers!  What a mistake that was!  I hope they don't call too often for baked goods!  So, anyway, I'm making a batch of choc. chip cookies and a thing of brownies.  And if they complain, then whatever.  I have no idea how many to even bake for.  So, I'm not extending myself out.  I'm sure that's a bit conceited, but oh well!

So, I'm having a Pampered Chef party at my house on Wednesday, and I'm so excited at the outcome!  I already have several outside orders and there are 18 coming so far! Yay!  Free stuff!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!

Well, now that my kitchen is all cleaned up, cookies baked, children fed and bathed, I can escape to my stamp room and get some work done!

O: E. can't play w/ my barbies!
Me: Please, just give her one!
O:  Ok, I'll give her Snow White.  I don't like her anyway!
(O. is a HUGE Disney Princess fan!  So funny that she just does not like Snow White!)

Bye!

Hi!

Hi there!
So, as I was driving home from picking my son up from school today, I looked in my rearview mirror and couldn't believe how BIG my son has gotten!  And then I thought, I should start a blog for myself to track my children as they grow.  And it will be nice to look back and laugh over their funny mannerisms!  I try to do that in facebook so that my family can see the latest hilarity but this would be more permanent.

I have 3 kids, my son, J. is 6, my daughter O. is 4 and my daughter E. is 17 months.  Forgive me for not sharing their names.  The internet is rather scary....  We live in Southwestern PA in a cute, quaint little town.  While living in town has some pluses: nice walking atmosphere, great Halloweens!, and nice neighbors; there are some minuses: no parking, living on a hill, living in a town w/ some undesirables.  Overall, I really can't complain, except for the no parking!  I complain about that ALL THE TIME!  LOL!

I am a stay at home mom, and I help out whoever needs me whenever I can.  I work part time for my dad who has several companies and is just becoming quite popular with his G.R.I.P. systems as well as his Medical Information Data Systems.  Once the G.R.I.P. site is up and running, I'll share that link!  Hey, I have to market wherever I can!  I make my own greeting cards and other alterable items that keep me busy and broke!  But I love it!  Here's my craft blog:  http://erinscrafts.blogspot.com

For this blog, I am making a goal of sharing something about my children here that I wouldn't necessarily share on facebook.  Not because people wouldn't be interested, but, people don't need to see a daily update on my children besides my immediate family!  And this is also a place where I can share recipes and little tidbits of my day on here.  This will NOT be a place for morbid complaining!  Occasional complaining is ok, but this is a POSITIVE blog!  Some of my other friends have started blogs with similar goals and it's fun to pop in there to see the latest antics their children are coming up with!  And of course, I had to hop on THAT bandwagon!  I am not an intellectual person, and I'm not a deep thinker.  So, this is a "fluff" blog for those that ARE deep thinkers!  I say things exactly how they are.  I'm a very literal thinker.  I think in black and white.  There are no shades of gray to me.  This is how this blog will be.  I will not apologize for my viewpoints.  If you disagree, that's fine.  But this is MY blog.  I'm not saying that I'm going to turn political anytime soon.  I don't really care to know about politics.  But, I have a lot of other views that are different from most people.  And I would like to air them at times.  This blog would be my soapbox.  I guess I should add that I have attention deficit disorder, so there will be posts that are SO random.  And the subjects will hop from one thing to another with no segway.  That's how I think!  Just like this paragraph!  It goes in quite a few different directions!  Just keep that in mind as you read!

And on that note, I have cupcakes to make for tomorrow, lasagna to make for tonight's dinner, and baskets for a fundraiser tomorrow to fill!

Bye!
